Battery Information & Care
Batteries typically have a 12-18 month life span, however with some TLC, you can reach this span or even extend it.
Charger battery contacts should be checked and cleaned frequently. If they are worn or dirty, they will not have a good connection to the charging unit. Use a soft pencil eraser to clean the contacts.
Don't charge a fully charged battery for an "extra boost". As we've learned with cell phones, repetitive overcharging can significantly reduce battery life. It is recommended that batteries be charged only once per use.
Do not charge a hot/cold battery. Allow it to come to room temperature. Charging a hot/cold battery will negatively impacts its life cycle. For example: A battery removed from a hot car and immediately placed in its charger may only accept 2/3 of the charge it would have taken if allowed to cool to room temperature prior to charging.
Battery chargers should be stored in a well-ventilated area at a maximum temperature of 75°. Not only does this extend the life of the charger, it also aids in the life of the batteries themselves.
