FCC Registration Number (FRN)
In order to conduct business with the FCC, each entity must register through the FCC's Commission
Registration System (CORES). Upon registration, you will be assigned a FCC Registration Number
(FRN). This number will be used to uniquely identify you in all transactions with the FCC. (Visit the FRN
Universal Licensing System (ULS)
The ULS is the easy, online answer to your wireless licensing and research needs. ULS provides secure,
world-wide access resulting in reduced filing time and financial savings. More than an electronic
filing system, ULS is a powerful information tool that enables A&B to research applications, licenses,
and antenna structures. It also keeps us informed with weekly public notices, FCC rulemakings,
processing utilities, a telecommunications glossary, and much more. Plus ULS features a Geographic
Information System (GIS), a digital mapping technology that identifies spectrum use in relation
to geographical areas. (Visit the ULS website.)
FCC Construction Notice
The FCC requires ALL new licensees report construction of their systems, including mobile only and low
power only systems. Construction licenses are valid for one year, at which time a regular license will
need to be obtained.
In order to file applications, A&B will need access to your CORES and ULS passwords. If you don’t
know, or have forgotten them, go to the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau's (WTB) website
Existing licenses cannot be modified unless the one of the following exist:
A&B can verify the customer provided FRN password is correct before the new application is filed.
A&B filed the original license and therefore has the FRN password. We will verify it has not been changed before the new application is filed.
